New Screaming Females single “Black Moon” out now!

Over six albums and more than a decade of touring, Screaming Females have remained deeply individual and steadfastly DIY. With every album the band’s creativity, chops and perseverance is outdone only by their devoted fanbase. The three piece has returned with the blistering new track, “Black Moon,” the first since their critically acclaimed sixth studio album Rose Mountain in 2015.  Made available only at Spina Records in their hometown of New Brunswick, NJ last Friday, the song was released as a 24-copy ultra limited edition 7”. Released digitally today, the four-minute long ripper is about the earth abandoning humanity, syphoned through the near-universal experience of ending a relationship.

Formed in 2005, Screaming Females is singer/guitarist Marissa Paternoster, bassist Michael Abbate and drummer Jarrett Dougherty. Highlighted as champions of the community on The New York Times Popcast earlier this month, it is clear that contemporary guitar based music is a force dominated by women and queers. Stay tuned for more news from Screaming Females and be sure to catch them on an upcoming fall tour with Street Eaters which kicks off next week. Full list of dates here & below.
